Offered for players U13–U17.  Managed by a professional coaching staff, our Academy is geared towards the complete development of high level players looking to progress to the collegiate level and beyond.

OVERVIEW

TACTICAL TRAINING

Tactical training and small-sided games are an essential part of the training at this stage. Attacking and defending principles must be part of all games. Important aspects of the tactical training are speed of play, quick transition, counter attacking and finishing in the final third, as well as pressing.

REFINED TECHNIQUE

Technique will focus on speed and accuracy. Passing and finishing are two of the main techniques emphasized at this stage. Part of the technical training will be position-specific

TRAINING FREQUENCY

The physical aspect of the game is key at this stage: endurance, strength and speed will be part of the weekly training routine.

PLAYER COMMITMENT

Players should be expected to show commitment to the team, concentration in training sessions and competitiveness during the game.

AGE GROUPS

ACADEMY – U13-U14

Format:
  • U9–U10: 7 v 7
  • U11–U12: 9 v 9
 
Pre-pubescent players from these ages have a special ability to learn. Therefore, this is the right age to work on specific soccer techniques and skills. Developing good technique is essential at this age.

    You will receive a team jersey by the 2nd session, once teams are finalized.

    We offer our Recreation league in the Fall (early Sept. – early Nov) and the Spring (early April – mid June) for 10 weeks.
  • Can I drop my child off or do I need to stay?
    Yes, you can drop your child off. The majority of parents stay during the games.
  • What do I need to bring on the first day? What should I bring every session?
    Depending on what specific Program you sign up for: For Practice Only Program you can bring: Practice Jersey Soccer ball with air (size 3 if your child is 8 or under, size 4 if your child is 12 or under, size 5 if your child is 13 or over) Water Shin guards Sneakers For Practice + League you can bring: Practice Jersey or Game-Day Jersey Soccer ball with air (size 3 if your child is 8 or under, size 4 if your child is 12 or under, size 5 if your child is 13 or over) Water Shin guards Soccer shoes
